In 1945 the results of a Nazi driven medical research project fall into the hands of a Japanese businessman, Takayuki Kitayama. Dying of cancer, he passes the information on to his only son and heir, Shuichi Kitayama, who uses the information to embark on a long term project that aims to reposition Japan as a global super power.
Nearly 70 years later, in 2014, Saudi Arabia walks out of OPEC and commences starving Europe of oil. In 2015 Russia cuts gas supplies to Europe. Then the worst winter ever recorded hits Europe.
