LARGE ORNATE VINTAGE 1974 GARNET 9CT YELLOW GOLD CLUSTER RING. BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL! BIRMINGHAM ASSAY. 375

This elaborate vintage piece features a large 9ct yellow gold textured dome studded with deep wine coloured garnets that give dramatic and strong colour contrast. The central round cut garnet is 0,38 carats. There are an additional 16 round cut garnets set in two tiers leading up to the larger garnet at the top of the flattened dome top. Together they total 1,82 carats. Openwork between the lowest garnets creates interest and allows light through below the gemstones to maximise reflections and sparkle. A slim yellow gold shank holds the 17mm diameter ring head, the height of which reaches 8mm above the finger. The very substantial 4,48 gram ring sits snugly and comfortably on the finger. The pedigree of the piece is indicated in the hallmarking, with the appearance of the jeweller's signature, '375' indicating 9ct gold, the Birmingham Assay mark and the date mark for 1974. It is really quite a special piece that will appeal to someone who likes their vintage jewellery that stands out as being noticeably different from modern pieces. A regal and classic colour combination, eye-catching, bold and definitely dramatic!
