Collectable Victorian 'Fairing' Figure
This charming, Victorian bisque porcelain 'Fairing' figure from the late 1800's, is hand painted and depicts a couple climbing into bed at the same time, with the words 'THE LAST IN BED TO PUT OUT THE LIGHT' at the end of the bed. This lovely piece is in excellent condition and measures 8,5cm x 5,5cm, and stands 8cm high.
Note: A 'Fairing' is a small porcelain ornament that was given away as prizes at Victorian fairs or carnivals. The ornaments often incorporate figures, which depict humorous, political or domestic scenes, and often have a caption describing the scene.
