   VINTAGE BALTIC AMBER STERLING SILVER RING. 925. DECORATIVE OPENWORK DESIGN 

This beautiful vintage piece features a large honey-hued Baltic amber cabochon bezel set in solid sterling silver. A ribbonlike decorative design surrounds the bezel set gemstone, creating the 21mm wide x 15mm long ring head. The simple shank forks on the shoulders into 2 undulating ribbons creating   openwork as it rejoins the ring head; rounded nubs of sterling silver punctuating between the ribbons. The Baltic amber has an amazing honey hue - interest is added by fascinating inclusions within the gemstone. The ring reaches 7mm above the finger, and weighs a hefty 4,6 grams. The piece bears the jeweller's signature and the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver. It is vintage but only a few buff marks to speak of its age. The most arresting feature of this ring is the astonishing colour and glow of the amber.
