Collectible Arabia Finland lidded jam jar by Ulla Procope circa 1960's

Offered for sale is a small highly collectible 1960's vintage lidded jam jar from the Pomona series designed by Ulla Procope with decal/transfer printed motifs designed by Esteri Tomula and Laija Uosikkinen . This is an earthenware /ceramic item with a semi gloss white glazed body and a vibrant orange and yellow repeat motif of a sliced orange suggesting the jar was intended for marmalade preserves. Ulla Procope designed two different forms for the storage jars, the clean lined cylindrical form with round cap as is this example and a slightly larger jar with a slightly indented upper rim. This vibrant range features seasonal  fruit as a decorative motif including apples, plums , rasberries, blackberries, gooseberries and strawberries as well as honey bees for the honey pot. These items are now highly collectible with some UK ecommerce traders listing similar examples for 80 Pounds Sterling.
