Offered for sale is a rare and highly collectible Italian wooden fruit basket designed by Aldo Tura for the manufactory Macabo Milano . This item was hand made in Cusano Milanino in Lombardy Italy in the mid 1950's. The bowl is medium sized and in good condition with minor surface wear . It features a hand carved wooden base of oblong or oval shape with a smooth polished interior and exterior ; the wood is an attractive honey colour probably oak or beech . The bowl has a hand made brass strap handle comprising two conjoined parts which flare out and attach to the rim of the bowl and open to form a eye-shaped aperture at the summit of the handle . The bowl has the makers mark stamped on the base viz Cusano Milanino Italy and Macabo. The base is supported by four small bun feet in brass .
