Offered for sale is a stylish hard to find vase made by the company Roth Keramik and dating to circa the 1960's/70's. The company Roth was a family owned enterprise founded by Edmund Roth and based in Ebernhahn West Germany ; most of the designs are attributed to Dorothea Roth. This is a large slip cast earthenware vase with a lustrous toffee coloured brown glaze graduating in tone with a darker coloured foot ring, upper rim and side handles. The unusual double ring circular side handles is a feature frequently used by Dorothea Roth in her vases and jugs/carafes. The vase has an impressed serial number on the base; this range of vases was marked with paper/foil labels. Dorothea Roth also designed two tone items with contrasting black and bright colours with the lava glaze effect synonymous with Midcentury German ceramics. Postage is R130 via Postnet or R150 for courier delivery. Collection is welcome from Emmerantia Jhb.
