Offered for sale is a highly collectible small lidded tureen from the Clupea range of crockery/flatware designed by Turi Gramstad Olivier who was the principal ceramic designer for the company Figgjo Flint in Stavangerflint Norway from the 1960's to the 1980's. This iconic design dates to the 1960's and features an eye catching motif of vertically arrayed fishes/herrings  in a colour combination of lavender blue, turquoise and ochre. The colourful design is transfer printed onto an earthenware body glazed in off white with a satin finish. The shape is truly futuristic with a slightlly tapering body  and extraordinary flange- like convex handles pierced with a circle. The lid has a toggle shaped finial. This range of earthenware commands high prices in Europe on auction and in retail galleries  with a single cup and saucer for example selling for 60 euros ie R900

Postage is R120 via Postnet or R150 for courier to major cities in SA. Collection welcome from Emmerantia Jhb
