Collection of old Coins & Tokens (oldest from Middle Ages)
The mediaeval copper or bronze coin has a strange counter-stamp that looks like a sextant. We believe the coin was struck in the1300s or 1400s. If the countermark is indeed a sextant, it was probably marked a couple of hundred years later. The other items include a 5 Cash coin of 1803 of the East India Company, a Victorian medallion and token, old South African tokens like Whyte and Co. Tea Merchants and Grocers, Cape Town 1861 and East London Municipal Ferry Penny 1880 and other foreign coins and tokens.
