Collection of over 200 mostly Vintage Wooden Matchbox Tops
Although there are a few intact matchboxes included, the vast majority of the items are the display sides that were cut off and collected – probably by a South African soldier during the Second World War – on a few there are written on the back “Egypt 1942 or “Egypt 1944” .
Some must be of an earlier date as they display the German East Africa Shipping line, the 1937 Royal Coronation, etc. The items were made in various countries like America, Germany, Belgium, Norway, England, India, Burma, Ceylon, Australia, South Africa, etc. Only a handful of items are not related to matchboxes or from a later era.
There are over 200 items (including duplicates). The first picture shows typical Southern African “brands”, the next 3 pictures items randomly picked as typical examples and the last most (but not all) of the collection.
I offer a 100% 7-day money back guarantee.
