The Imari style originates from Arita, Japan, dating back to the 1600s. By the 20th century, Japanese studios began producing collectors editions like this one, using modern printing to reproduce the rich Kinrande (gold and enamel) motifs once hand-painted on export porcelains. These certified collector pieces were typically made between the 1960s and 1980s, during Japans Shōwa period, for the Western market.
