Genuine South African Naval Sword , made by Wilkinson of England . Serial number 90902 , complete with Scabbard , Sword Bag , Gold Thread Shame Knot and Belt . Sword handle is of real Shark skin and tied with Bullion wire . The blade is decorated with the standard SAN ( pre 1994 ) etching pattern with blood groove , but no edge as it was used for ceremonial purposes and parades only .

The Sword Bag is of Black leather with a red velvet material lining the inside of the bag .The sword belt is patent leather with brass buckle , sword straps with clips and a hook to carry the sword off the ground .This comes with the discharge documentation to prove that ownership was legally transferred upon discharge from the SA Navy .

The sword has been valued by someone qualified to do so . These swords are no longer made but the current day Naval swords (not a Wilkinson ) are imported at a cost of roughly R33 400 -00 .
