"Poljot watches are manufactured by the First Moscow Watch Factory. The factory began producing watches in 1930, and started using the Poljot brand name in 1961.
Poljot watches are higher-end Russian watches and cost more than most Russian watch brands. An average Poljot watch costs around $300. Some gold President-series Poljot watches sell for upwards of $10,000."
This watch was checked by my Swiss watch maker and he says this is an excellent watch circa 1964, one of the originals made by by First Moscow Watch factory. All parts were made in USSR. An interesting fact is that the glass is not actual glass but a hard type of plastic, typical of their first watches, as at that time it would have been too expensive for them to start a glass factory as well. Already making all the other parts. I believe they did buy a whole lot of spares, machinery and parts from Ansonia at some stage.
This watch is working perfectly and has hardly worn. It shows no signs of wear. And it is beautiful and elegant.
