DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
DESCRIPTIONA framed, mounted and glazed coloured etching by well - known South African artist Thami Jali. The artist has titled the etching 'Agony', dated it 1990, numbered it 5/25 and signed it in pencil in the bottom margin. This etching is of medium size and in horizontal format. It measures 52 x 42 cm framed and 14 x 15 cm without the frame. In the image above you can see the item up for auction. The images which follow describe this artwork better than I can, so please have a good look at them.
CONDITIONThe artwork itself is in very good condition and also the black wooden frame. It is very presentable and ready to be hung as it is.
NOTES
This is a very collectable artwork by an artist who was known for protest art during the apartheid era. It depicts the agony of persecution and supression under apartheid and is a good example of Black protest art. A very collectable artwork which should also be a good investment.
