Remove the protective cap, pull the ring sharply to the side and hold a few seconds for ignition.

Hold in hand or throw away. If you are in the veld, a flame may occur when igniting and if the flare is immediately thrown away, it can cause a bush fire. Flare will not get hot if held in hand!
