It is possible to establish from the back stamp underneath this item that it was made in England by H. J. Colclough, sometime after 1908. On the banner underneath the emblem, it states, “Eendragt Maakt Mag.” I assume this was made to commemorate the unification in 1910, of the Boer Republics and the Cape Colony, into the Union of South Africa. Please study the pictures carefully: apart from the gilding to the rim which has worn with age to the extent it is virtually nonexistent, there are also small glaze “nibbles” to the rim of the base. I have photographed these. It stands 7cm tall, with a diameter of 11cm. Apart from the aforementioned, it is free of chips, cracks or restoration. Please add R38 for postage on this single item, or R45 for more than one.
