This is a complete collection of farthings minted during the first decade of the rule of King George V.
George V, the second son of Edward VII, was born on 3 June 1865 and married Mary of Teck who bore him five sons and a daughter. He was King through World War I and visited the front on several occasions.
He suffered a fall breaking his pelvis on of these visits, an injury that would pain him for the rest of his life.
