Sporadic spotting/foxing.

"Constance Belcher Larymore was the wife of Major Henry Douglas Larymore.

He took part in various expeditions to Africa and was later British Resident at

Kumassi and Northern Nigeria. In this volume Constance Larymore writes of

her everyday life and journeys over a period of five years spent in Africa around

the start of the 20th century, taken from journals and notes made at the time.

The second part of the book contains chapters largely devoted to home life and

were not originally intended for publication in this form, and are the outcome of

actual experience of living in Africa. They were originally written in 1902, and later

revised and corrected as time showed the author her mistakes. The book includes

chapters on Bidda nad Egga, Keffie, Trekking North, Kano, Katagum, Borgu, Bida,

the household, dogs and poultry, the stable, camp life, and what to wear."
