Constantius II (22 May 337 - 3 November 361 A.D) Imperial Roman Coin

Bronze, diameter approx 22mm

Constantius II, son of Constantine the Great,  ruled until 361 AD. As his inheritancance he received the entire eastern empire. He then added Thrace and, as his brothers were killed, added their territories as well. After the defeat of Magnentius Constantius II controlled the entire empire.

Constantius II then started a campaign along the Danube but war with the Persians forced him to return his troops.

Shortly after this, Julian II was proclaimed Augustus against Constantius II. Constantius died on his way to fight Julian II and Julian II became new ruler of the Roman Empire.
