Contact A tribute to those who serve Rhodesia by John Lovett

First published Aug 1977 by Galaxie Press Rhodesia.  revised Nov 1977. Reprinted .1978.

Hard Cover Large Book.  Dust Jacket very tatty especially on the edges.  Hard cover slight indentation at the bottom right corner, otherwise book in good condition. (see photos).

"The terrorists, tipped off by the Bristow's cook, opened their attack by hitting the bedrooms with RPG rockets, but unknown to the servant, the family had been sleeping for some time in a home-made bomb shelter.  The rockets were followed by a hail of small arms fire - an estimated nine hundred rounds in the the first minute only.

Mrs Bristow ran out to draw the terrorist fire, fearing their bullets might ricochet into the bunker, where her husband Norman was maintaining a steady return fire.

Ducking behind a pillar she coolly watched for the enemy's gun flashes before firing back with her Uzi sub-machine-gun.  Her thirteen-year-old son helped by reloading the magazines.

Then, when the Uzi became too hot to fire, Mrs Bristow switched to a .303 rifle.

But as the attack raged on, even the battling Bristows began to lose hope that help would arrive in time.  Kneeling with her arms around the children she told them:  "We are all going to die tonight.  But we must die bravely.  No one must cry."

Farmers under Siege Chapter.
