This Copeland Spode Character jug was designed by Eric Olsen. The undecorated jugs (like this one) were made exclusively for the home market, whilst the painted examples were exported to the colonies. I can only assume that that this one must have been brought back from England as a souvenir. It stands 22 cm tall and is in all original condition with no cracks, chips or restoration to it.
