Copenhagen Market Cabbage Seeds. This Danish heirloom cabbage was introduced by H. Hartman & Co. in 1909. This early variety forms round, solid heads 15-20cm in diameter, making it the largest early round-head cabbage for summer harvest. This summer harvest variety has good keeping ability, excellent uniformity, and rich flavour. This variety is outstanding for coleslaw. It’s a popular market variety that has the added benefit of shipping very well.

This early cabbage matures in as little as 65 days .

Growing Copenhagen Market Cabbage

  • Start Cabbage Seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost in spring.
  • You can also sow the seed outdoors when the soil can be worked in spring.
  • Place transplants in the garden when they are 3 to 4 inches tall as early as 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost in spring.
  • In cool-summer regions, plant cabbage in late spring for a fall harvest.
