It is found in the forests and bushes of Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, growing in a well drained but slightly rich soil with some water and some sun.
