Coriander - Coriandrum sativum (Dhunia)
Sow coriander seeds in early spring in a sunny position, 1 cm deep, keep seeds moist. Germination takes 7 to 14 days. If possible sow directly into their permanent position. Thin out when seedlings are about 5 cm, their final spacing should be about 24 cm.
Water coriander plants deeply once a week. Plant them in a light loam soil with compost, dolmitic lime and wood ash. If planting in clay soil, add some builders sand to improve drainage.
Start harvesting coriander leaves when the seedlings are 12 cm high.
