They grow to a height of about 18-30cm
Their flowers are edible when fresh, but the seeds and leaves are also used for medicinal purposes.
Making your own Corn flower tea with the flower petals, improves digestion, regulates gall bladder, liver and kidneys and help increase resistance against infections.
The seeds tend to be a mild laxative for constipation in children.
The petals are also used for fabric dye and blue ink for water colouring painting.
