This nutcracker has a US and UK patent.   A strong cracker that works on a ratchet system.

Crackerjack nutcrackers used a patented ratchet mechanism (first patented in 1947). Crackerjack nutcrackers are easy to date (apart from the very early models), as the ratchet bar is cast with the date of manufacture.     -    note:    I dont see a date on this cracker
