Crassula mesembryanthemoides or Doubossie grows to 40cm tall. It is a much-branched shrublet with hairy leaves & cream flowers during autumn & winter. It is best sown in spring.

It prefers a shaded area in the garden but also makes an interesting container plant. The leaves are covered with bristles. They are organized in rosettes and look like a plant from the Aizoaceae family or Mesembryanthemum. This gave it the species name 'mesembryanthemoides' 'means looking like a Mesembryanthemum'.
