Religious chine-collé by Belgian artist Antoine Voncken (1827 - 1863), after Godefroid Guffens (1823 - 1901). The work is titled Salon de 1854, L'Hymne Mystique. Below the image is inscribed Guffens pinxt and Voncken delt

The artwork is framed in a green and gold frame and behind reflective glass. The artwork will be extremely well packaged and wrapped for postage.

Chine-collé is a special technique in printmaking, in which the image is transferred to a surface that is bonded to a heavier support in the printing process. One purpose is to allow the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper or linen, which pulls finer details off the plate.
