English Common Name: Falling Stars
Beautiful orange and yellow star-shaped flowers, easy to grow - excellent cut flower. Prefers a cool spot and light, rich medium. Feed with slow release 3:1:5 or organic fertilizer and water regularly in summer for best results.
Here is a great Crocosmia to grow for cut flowers or just to enjoy in the garden. Will form a clump only 50 cm wide. The flowers are orange-red & produced on branched inflorescences that can get to be 1m tall. Found growing along the edges of forests in South Africa, it prefers some shade & to be kept moist. It succeeds in most soils except heavy clays & bogs. Yellow dye is obtained from flowers. Hardy to -10 degrees F.
