Crown XS500 2-Channel Power Amplifier *** Read Description - Protect Mode Fault ***

Fault on power amplifier - Starts up and then switches into protect mode (Power LED and Fault LED on).  Does occasionally start up without this error, but, mostly it switches to protect mode immediately after power on.  Not sure what is causing the amp to go into protect mode - Can either be repaired by someone with knowledge of amps or used for spares.  Sold as is (Photos provided show the actual condition of the amp and the protect mode error)

The Crown Xs500 Power Amp gives you 750W per channel @ 2 ohms, 500W @ 4 ohms, and 400W @ 8 ohms, 1,450W bridged @ 8 ohms. The Xs500 Power Amp combines first-class reliability with a rugged, all-steel chassis and efficient forced-air fan to prevent excessive thermal buildup. Power amp front panel sports 2 precision-detented level controls, a power switch, and 10 LEDs indicating signal and clip for each channel, bridge mode, power, AC mains present, plus temp and fault conditions. Rear-panel connections include 2 Neutrik Combo inputs allowing balanced XLR or 1/4" connections; barrier strip inputs; 2 XLR male outputs for daisy-chaining; plus touch-proof binding post, Speakon, and Phoenix outputs. The Crown Xs500 can be run as 2 independent channels or bridged. Extensive protection and diagnostics capabilities on this Crown power amp include output current limiting, DC protection, circuit breaker, and special thermal protection of the unit's transformers.
