What this costs new right now
A single new 16GB DDR5 SODIMM is selling for R4,500 to R5,000 at South African retailers this month. That puts 32GB of new laptop memory at roughly R9,000. This kit is up with no reserve.

Condition
Roughly one year in service in my own laptop. 100% functional, no errors, no instability, no faults of any kind. Never overclocked and never run outside JEDEC spec. Labels and heat spreaders intact.
Why I am selling
I moved my laptop up to 64GB. These two sticks came out working and there is nothing wrong with them. That is the whole story.
Why memory costs what it does in 2026
If you have not priced RAM in a while, brace yourself. Memory manufacturers have shifted wafer capacity toward high bandwidth memory for AI data centre accelerators, because that is where the margin is. Consumer DDR4 and DDR5 supply got squeezed hard as a result, and prices have climbed steadily since late 2025.
No analyst on record is forecasting meaningful relief before late 2027. On top of that, Micron has wound down the Crucial consumer brand, so this exact part is no longer in production. New stock is thinning out.
Short version: second hand memory is not a bargain bin anymore, it is a real part of the market. Buy accordingly.
Compatibility
Fits any laptop, mini PC or all-in-one that takes 262-pin DDR5 SODIMM memory. It runs at DDR5-4800 by default and will clock down automatically if your machine runs slower.
This will not fit a DDR4 laptop. The notch sits in a different position. Check your machine takes DDR5 before you bid.
