Growing Notes
- Use clean small cells and fine, sterile, freely drained seed mix.
- Give bright light and gentle airflow immediately after emergence to prevent stretch and damping-off.
- Water thoroughly, then allow slight drying at the surface. Repeated saturation encourages oedema and root disease.
- Feed lightly; naturally light-green C. procumbens foliage should not be forced darker with excess nitrogen.
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other local flower visitors. The breeder's hummingbird claim applies to the Americas, not South Africa.
Ornamental seed: Raw describes the seed form, not food safety. Do not eat the seed or plant parts, and keep packets away from children and pets.
