CUSTOM DAMASCUS BLADE SKINNING KNIFE
True hand forged Damascus steel - Burl wood handle

Damascus steel blades are created by forge welding multiple layers of various steels into a solid block called a billet.
The billet is then folded and re-welded many times to create multiple layers and patterns.
When acid is applied to the blade, it attacks the layers of hard and soft steels differently, highlighting the attractive layered patterns in the steel.
The combination of layered hard and soft steels creates blade flexibility, hardness and durability and produces invisible serrations on the cutting edge that aid in cutting.
The Damascus blade of this knife has been hand forged from 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steels.
The cutting edge was heat treated to attain a hardness of 50-55 on the Rockwell scale.
The handle is constructed from burl wood with a brass bolster and pins.
The cutting edge of the blade has been sharpened.
