The billet is then folded and re-welded many times to create multiple layers and patterns.
When acid is applied to the blade, it attacks the layers of hard and soft steels differently, highlighting the attractive patterns in the steel.
The combination of layered hard and soft steels creates blade flexibility, hardness and durability and produces invisible serrations on the cutting edge that aid in cutting.

The blade is the result of hours of forging from 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steels into 420 layers.
The cutting edge has been heat treated to attain a hardness of 55-60 on the Rockwell scale.
The blade displays a beautiful Damascus pattern and has been given only a basic edge.
A beautiful Rose wood handle is rounded off by a Damascus steel bolster and butt cap.
