A native of San Antonio, Texas, Cynthia has lived in several Southeastern states and lastly resided in the New Orleans area, where she had her studio on Bayou Bonfouca in Slidell, Louisiana.
During her career, Cynthia had held many workshops in various media and taught advanced art classes for over 12 years.
She began her steadily increasing career in 1964, and since that time, she had received numerous awards in regional, and national shows. Cynthia had been honored with many invitational one-woman and group shows in distinguished fine art galleries and museums throughout the United States and Mexico.
She had received the Birmingham Art Association Show First Award and the Birmingham Museum of Art Show Awards several times.
Cynthia was a participant in the National Traveling Lecture Show, an invitational show sponsored by the Birmingham Museum of Art.
She was the Birmingham Festival of Arts Honored Artist twice and was selected to be represented in the Louisiana Professional Arts Show.
Cynthias work was included in an invitational exhibition in the United States Senate Building in Washington, D.C.
She was an honored member of the Alabama Water Color Society.
Cynthia was honored as Woman of the Year by the WHF of Louisiana.
DECEMBER STUDIOS was named by the United States Department of Commerce as the Official Artists for the United States Pavilion at the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana. ( The Worlds Fair )
Cynthias very unique style of graphics incorporates many colored plates, handmade paper and hand-coloring, as well as paper and metal embossing and college in a fresh new combination.
She tried to spend part of each year traveling and painting in Mexico. Many of her prints and paintings reflect her love for the Spanish arts and their vivid colors and designs.
