The flowers of Cyphostemma juttae are inconspicuous, but the large grape-like bunches of bright wine-colored berries near the end of summer make this succulent a true showpiece for container and garden alike. It is a slow-growing succulent with a huge swollen trunk which is covered by peeling papery bark which protects it from too much sunlight by reflecting the sun’s rays away from the stem. A fully grown plant can measure up to 2 m.
