RARE 1950S GEBRUDER BENEDICT (GB) CZECH BOHEMIA IRRIDESCENT PEARL LUSTERWARE SET OF 6 TRIOS

GLISTERING IRRIDESCENT PEARL LUSTERWARE SET OF 6 TRIOS MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA BY THE GEBRUDER (BROTHERS) BENEDICT PORCELAIN COMPANY CIRCA 1945-1992. IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS NO CRACKS.
 
NOTE I HAVE A LARGE TEAPOT SUGAR BOWL AND MILK PITCHER AND A LARGE PLATE BY GEBRUDER BENEDICT IN THE SAME PEARL LUSTERWARE PATTERN ALSO ON AUCTION THIS WEEK. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A FULL SET PLEASE HAVE A LOOK.
 
PEARL SHELL LUSTERWARE:
Lusterware is a type of pottery or porcelain with a metallic glaze that gives the effect of iridescence. The final glaze lustre is usually composed of different metallic ingredients. The story of lustreware ceramic painted with an iridescent metallic pigment over the glaze is one of ancient origins, and secrecy that continues to this day.
 
MARKINGS:
This teapot is printed in green on bottom MADE IN WITH ENTERTWINED GB LOGO SCRIPT (for Gebruder Benedict) and CZECHOSLOVAKIA UNDERNEATH. THIS GB LOGO WAS USED FOR FOR MOST OF THE COMPANIES EXISTENCE BUT MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA WAS USED BETWEEN 1945 AND 1992.
 
Czechoslovakia was a landlocked state in Central Europe, created in 1918, when it declared its independence from Austria-Hungary. In 1938, after the Munich Agreement, the Sudetenland became part of Nazi Germany. On December 31, 1992, the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic ceased to exist and was succeeded by two new states: the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Thus they were Czechoslovakia from 1918 - 1993 and the Czech republic after.
 
During the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, it produced porcelain with the "GB logo" and the country name Germany or Deutschland.

CONDITION: NO CHIPS. NO CRACKS. PEARL LUSTRE SHINY AND BEAUTIFUL. GOLD GILDING IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.
 
GEBRUDER BENEDICT POTTERY (1882-present):
G. Benedikts history has begun in 1882, when the Benedict brothers established a porcelain factory in Dvory, which was named "Gebrüder Benedikt" in honor of its founders. It was known as Gebruders Benedict until 1925 whenit became known as United Porcelain Factory Meierhofen after it merged with the Eberhardt factory. During this time it specialized mainly in white and decorated tableware (dining, coffee, tea and similar sets). It was annexed in 1938 by Nazi Germany and during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, it produced porcelain with the "GB logo" and the country name Germany or Deutschland.
After WWII it was nationalised and it became part of Starorolsky Porcelan followed in being incorporated in 1958 into Karlovarsky Porcelan as the Dvory Plant. During this time lusterware were first produced. Decorations were made in a special stove. At extremely high temperatures, the decor was perfectly fused into the glaze, making it resistant to mechanical abrasion.
In 1992 it became independent again under the name Hotel Porcelan Karlovy Vary. In 2002 it took part of its old name back and is now known as G Benedict Karlovy Vary. 
G. Benedikt company has now been producing porcelain in its home country for 140 years with 100% selected local raw materials of the Czech origin.
