Tuber Count: 2
Plant Height: 30—40cm
Bloom Size: 5—6cm
Flower Type: Single (Topmix series)
Growth Habit: Compact and mounding
Light Requirement: Full sun
Blooming Season: Summer to first frost
Spacing: 25—30cm
Plant Staking: Not needed
Planting Time:
Spring (August to October), once the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to 15°C or above.
Position:
Full sun—thrives in bright, open spaces. Excellent for containers, low borders, and small-space gardens.
Soil:
Well-draining, light soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Avoid heavy or soggy ground.
Watering:
Water well after planting, then allow soil to dry slightly between waterings. Increase watering once shoots appear and during peak blooming.
Feeding:
Feed with a potassium-rich liquid fertiliser every 3—4 weeks during active growth.
Maintenance:
Remove faded blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Trim back lightly if plants become leggy.
Overwintering:
In most South African climates, tubers can overwinter in-ground. In colder regions, lift and store dry in a cool, dark spot after foliage dies back.
