GORGEOUS OVAL FACETED AMETHYST 9CT YELLOW GOLD CLUSTER RING. 375.  GEM-TESTED, WELL-HALLMARKED 

This dainty piece features an oval faceted amethyst in the most beautiful rich purple set on 9ct yellow gold extended claws, framed by 18 x very small round cut diamonds set in 9ct white gold. The colour contrast of the warm yellow gold, the rich, royal purple depths of the amethyst against the icy sparkle of the diamond ruff is quite spectacular. The ring head measures 8mm across x 9mm long, and is raised 5mm above the finger, supported on a slender 9ct yellow gold shank that supports the gemstones. I obtained this piece from a favourite vintage jeweller in Birmingham; the ring bears the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold and the Birmingham Assay mark. The piece is beautifully crafted, is in good condition and weighs a dainty 1,7grams. I had the ring authenticated by an independent jeweller and her certificate for insurance purposes of R10'000 will accompany the ring.
