With the launch of the DALI Oberon series, we have picked the best elements from our current speakers and brought them together in a series that delivers on audio quality, looks and versatility. The 29 mm ultra light-weight soft dome tweeter integrates seamlessly with the 7 wood fibre (SMC based) woofer for impressive highs, detailed and crisp mids and a surprising coherent and well-timed bass. The OBERON 3 is easy to integrate into any room. Both the driver materials and geometry applied in the OBERON 3 have been selected to achieve a wide dispersion pattern in the listening area. The same principles have been applied in the design of the crossover. As result, you will experience a well-integrated sound, even when listening at a significant off-axis angle. This is important as you are rarely seated directly in front of your loudspeakers when listening to music. An added benefit is seriously reduced harmonic distortion and diffractions causing frequency distortion, as these will always be stronger in an on-axis response. This is also the reason why all DALI speakers are not designed to be toed-in. Also, the component that handles the bulk of the direct front action, choosing an effective centre loudspeaker is essential to the whole home cinema experience. Therefore, we designed the VOKAL to be a fool-proof hit in any home, both in terms of performance and physicality. Firstly, armed with our sublime 6½ inch low-loss Wood Fibre Woofer, Hybrid Tweeter module and front-pointing bass port, you can be assured that the action on the screen in front of you is seamlessly soundtracked, with deftly handled detail drawing you deeper in. Perfect with any of the compact speakers in the series, but at the same time powerful enough to match the OPTICON 8. Secondly, with an eye on practicality, the OPTICON VOKAL has also been designed to fit most makes of Hi-Fi furniture due to the front-facing bass ports, meaning it can be neatly stowed away a plus point for aesthetically minded home owners and home cinema custom installers alike. But it will work just as well out in the open. The OPTICON VOKAL is also a part of the EISA award-winning OPTICON 5.1 system, together with the OPTICON 6 and the OPTICON 2. Legacy The OPTICON VOKAL features the same low-loss Wood Fibre Woofer found in our flagship EPICON series, alongside our unique SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) magnet motor system and a reworked version of our Hybrid Tweeter module also found in the RUBICON, all of which works together along with an individual bass reflex port for the woofer to produce audio exactly as the recording artist originally envisioned it. Dali Drivers All elements of the DALI drivers are designed, produced and manufactured in-house in DALI. Dali MDF Cabinets Keeping the manufacturing of the OPTICON series firmly in the hands of DALI we utilize our large and efficient woodworking facility in Denmark to handle everything from cutting out the Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) cabinet to applying the vinyl. SMC-Technology In the OPTICON woofer magnet motor system, the pole piece is purely constructed of SMC. SMCs unique ability to deliver a high magnetic conductivity and a very low electrical conductivity delivers all the wanted qualities of a good speaker magnet without the traditional downsides.
