On offer this fabulous Art Find! An original Danie de Jager Bronze of Female Form - the front with a female's face and the hair on the sides and back mingled with nude female forms in different poses. De Jager sculpted both realistically and abstractly and this piece is a clever combination of both, it is easy to see why this South African Sculptor during his successful career was and is ranked as one of the most experienced sculptors in the world! He has done numerous commissions locally and internationally most notably: Four Monuments commemorating the Anglo Boer War of 1900, Large sculptures for cities all over South Africa, America and the Middle East, Many large bronzes in private collection, among them the huge Apollo fountain in Johannesburg, etc etc etc. See the following link for more information on Danie de Jager: http://www.sculpturesa.com/History.html

The sculpture stands on what looks like a marble stand and with stand it is 32cm high, the base has a diameter of 22cm and it weighs a sturdy 9.3kg. It is signed on the back, dated 1992, numbered (14/100) and interestingly it appears to be finger printed as well just below the numbers. The sculpture is in excellent condition, I can find no blemish or fault with it and this will certainly be a fabulous addition to any valuable art collection.
