DARK BLUE SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING. 9ct WHITE AND YELLOW GOLD.
This is an elegant vintage dark blue sapphire and diamond 9ct gold ring. It features 3 x oval faceted blue sapphires in the centre set in a raised setting of 9 carat white gold, which are rather gracefully framed by 12 x round cut natural diamonds, set into an interesting knotted wave design around the sapphires. The sapphires are a very dark blue, and contrast strongly against the sparkle of the diamonds and the white gold surround. The 9 carat yellow gold shank of the ring has a graceful flowing appearance, splitting at the point where the shank connects with the ring head. The ring setting is jsut showy enough in the way the stones have been set on a raised setting 4 mm above the finger. Its not a chunky piece, quite elegant and graceful! I bought it from a favourite vintage jewellery place in Birmingham in the Midlands of England. However, there is no assay mark so cannot be sure where it was made.
The ring bears the hallmark 'DIA' for genuine diamonds.
