First edition, 1859. gilt top edge, marbled endpapers, 695 pp., illustrated including a frontispiece and an engraved titlepage (in addition to the typical type titlepage), clean unmarked text, a few pages have slight foxing. Very Good copy, 44 bookplates. A bit of wear to the tips of the outer pages, age-toning or discoloration to the pages and page-edges, minimal rubbing to the outer joints and corners, light wear to the spine-ends.
