DAZZLING 2,07CT GREENISH BLUE VIOLET TANZANITE GEMSTONE FROM THE SLOPES OF KILOMANJARO

THE FOUR BLUE FACETED GEMSTONES THAT ARE MOST OFTEN SEENIN COMMERCIAL JEWELRY ARE IN ORDER OF HOW EXSPENSIVE THEY ARE: TOPAZ, AQUAMARINE, TANZANITE AND SAPPHIRE. Blue Topaz are the most affordable. Then comes Aquamarine which was considered sacred by the Romans and Greeks. Tanzanites are exspensive due to its rarity - The only commercial source of the stone is Tanzania and the worlds production only comes from an area that is barely 6kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide.. Even though a tanzanite is much rarer than a sapphire, the latter is more expensive because of its beauty and eternal association with royalty.
THIS PARTICULAR STONE WAS BOUGHT IN 2011 FROM A SELLER ON EBAY WITH THE ORIGEN OF THE STONE INDICATED AS TANZANIA. IT HAS A VVS (EYECLEAR) CLARITY WHICH MEANS IT IS FREE OF INCLUSIONS AS SEEN WITH THE NAKED EYE WHICH IT APPEARS TO BE. IT WAS ALSO SOLD AS A NATURAL AND UNHEATED GEMSTONE.
I THINK THIS IS A REAL TANZANITE GEMSTONE AS IT PASSED ALLTHE TESTS I COULD PERFORM: PASSED SCRATCH TEST: IT SCRATCHES GLASS IT IS HARDERTHAN GLASS. (MOHS HARDNESS GLASS 5.5-6.5 TANZANITE 6.5-7.0 QUARTZ7.0-7.5) PASSED ELECTRON UV LIGHT EMISSION TEST: NO UV REACTION ASIT SHOULD BE. AS A SILICATE MINERAL TANZANITE SHOWS NO FLUORENCENT REACTION IT IS INERT. GLASS AND ALL QUARTZ VARIETIES ALSO DOES NOT SHOW A UV AFFECT. (THE UV LIGHT HIT THE ELECTRONS. THEY JUMP AND FALL BACK.THEY RADIATE LIGHT OF A CERTAIN WAVELENGTH WHEN THEY DO WHICH IS SPECIFIC TOEACH ELEMENT IN THE MINERAL. THIS IS CALLED FLUORESCENCE. ONLY 10% OF GEMSTONESEXHIBIT A FLUORESCENCE AFFECT LIKE RUBIES, SAPPHIRE, TOPAZ, OPALS AND DIAMONDS.GLASS AND ALL NATURAL QUARTZ VARIETIES DOES NOT SHOW A UV AFFECT.) PASSED THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY TEST: TESTED THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY WITH A MIZAR PRESTIGE SERIES 2 DIAMOND TESTER. IT DID NOT MOVE UPTHE LADDER A LITTLE FROM STANDARD LEVEL 3. TANZANITE (ZOISITE) IS A SILICATEMINERAL WITH A THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF ONLY 0,005 AND A LEVEL OF 3 IS THE NORMFOR THIS TESTER. (WITH THIS TESTER GLASS MAKES NO MOVEMENT AND QUARTZ WITH THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF 0,02 NORMALLY GO UP TO LEVEL 4.)
THIS TANZANITE GEMSTONE HAS A SUPPLIED GISA (GEMMOLOGY INSTITUTE OF SOUTHERN AFRICA) CERTIFICATE. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION ONLINE. THEY COULD NOT BE CONTACTED BY CONTACT DETAILSSUPPLIED ON THE BACK. THERE IS NO WEBSITE TO CHECK PAST REPORTS THAT I COULD FIND. I DO NOT KNOW IF STILL IN EXISTENCE. TO THEIR CREDIT THOUGH I HAVE SEEN REPORTS BY THEM WHERE THEY BY MY OWN CONFIRMATION HAVE NOT EXAGERATED OR LIED ABOUT A STONE.
SIZE: 9,2mm x 7,0mm x 4,1mm
DISCLAIMER: I AM NO GEMSTONE EXPERT. THESE GEMSTONES BELONGED TO A FAMILY MEMBER THAT HAS PASSED AWAY. HE COLLECTED GEMSTONES DURING THE EARLY TWENTY FIRST CENTURY MANY WERE BOUGHT ON EBAY AND OTHERS BYTRAVELLING TO OTHER COUNTRIES. I HAVE TRIED TO VERIFY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE ANYSTATEMENTS OR CLAIMS BY DOING SOME RESEARCH AND PRELIMARY TESTS ON EACH GEMSTONE.
TANZANITE: Tanzanite is the blue and violet variety of the mineral zoisite, caused by small amounts of vanadium. It is classified as a silicate though and has a chemical formula of Ca2Al3(SiO4)3(OH). The extraordinary gemstone was first discovered in 1967at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro the only known source in the world. Allof the known deposits are confined to a few square miles of land in northern Tanzania. stone. The mineral zoisite naturally occurs in a wide range of colors that include colorless, gray, yellow, brown, pink, green, blue, and violet. The name "tanzanite" is used for a color variety of zoisite that ranges from blue, through violet, to violetish purple. Heat treatment is done to almost all of the tanzanite on the market today to improve the color. Scientists found that heating could convert some naturally brown or green zoisite into beautiful blue zoisite(tanzanite!). With the exception of a small amount of naturally blue material, heating is the source of tanzanite's desirable blue color. This treatment iswidely known and should be expected by retailers and customers. Synthetic tanzanite is currently not known in themarketplace. As of late 2019, nobody has successfully produced and marketed synthetic tanzanite. Tanzanite is one of the most sought-after gemstones of all time. According to a Tanzanian geologist, the circumstances that led to its formation 585 million years ago were so exceptional that the likelihood of finding tanzanite anywhere else on earth is one in a million, making it a thousand times rarer than diamonds. With only one known source in the world, tanzanite is predicted to be depleted within 10-12 years.
