Published by Bij Smuts en Hofmeijr, 1873 - Kaapstad

Hardcover without dustjacket. The boards have a lot of discolouration and rubbing. The book itself is hinged but the binding still good for a book this age. This would probably need new boards in time to preserve the contents. I haven't found any other copy like online so I presume it's a pretty scarce title. I'm not sure if this is written in Dutch or an early "Cape Dutch" dialect of Afrikaans. It seems like a hybrid of the two languages - possibly very early Afrikaans?
