Condition: Fair, the Spine has a lean, splitting to the foot of the spine, end papers spotted, light foxing to the text block, some underlining, some written notes on the back pages of the catalogue, corners bumped, wear to edges of the boards. Top edge gilt. Five page preface by Robert Ross. The forty-page publisher's catalogue at the rear is dated February 1909, indicating that this is the true first issue (there was a second March issue published).

De Profundis (Latin: "from the depths") is a letter written by Oscar Wilde during his imprisonment in Reading Goal, to "Bosie" (Lord Alfred Douglas), with whom Wilde had an intimate friendship.
