The boards are clean, square and solid, with some minor wear to edges in places, and bumped corners. Gilt to top of page edges, others rough cut. The first and last end-papers are tanned, but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. Pages 208 - 220 remain joined on the vertical edge along a length of about 5mm, in the centre. Pages 150 and 151 are stuck together at a point mid-page. All four plates and three fold-out maps in the rear of the book are present and intact.
