About:
Is a detective novel featuring Inspector Roderick Alleyn, first published in 1970. The story revolves around a group of tourists visiting Rome, specifically its magnificent churches, who become entangled in a web of blackmail, drug-smuggling, and ultimately, murder within the depths of a Roman basilica. Inspector Alleyn must investigate the disappearance of their host and the subsequent discovery of a body in a sarcophagus to uncover the truth.
