Paul Kersey returns as a vigilante to protect his fiancée from a violent mob, leading to a deadly confrontation with her ex-husband and his criminal associates.
In this fifth and final installment of the Death Wish series, Paul Kersey, now living under the alias Paul Stewart in the Witness Protection Program, is teaching architecture in New York City. He is invited by his fiancée, Olivia Regent, to a fashion show. Backstage, Olivias ex-husband, mobster Tommy OShea, and his enforcers, Sal and Chicki Paconi, confront her, threatening her and her business. Olivia later reveals to Paul that Tommy has been abusive, leaving bruises on her wrist, which prompts Paul to confront him, though Chicki points a gun at him, and the confrontation ends with the arrival of their daughter, Chelsea
