This catalogue accompanies an exhibition by Deborah Poynton, the central element of which is an 11-panel painting titled Arcadia. The installation creates the sense of standing in a decayed concrete folly at twilight and looking out through the pillars into a liminal, overgrown landscape that surrounds the viewer on all sides. In addition to images of the works on exhibition, the catalogue contains the transcript of a talk by Poynton in which she describes her interest in 17th-century landscapes, how she constructed her Arcadia and her relationship to photography.
